East LA-based quintet Wires in the Walls explores a textured space between Americana, anthemic indie rock, austere post-punk, and pop. Since the band's formation in 2009, they've busted their asses playing many of LA's top venues and residencies (The Satellite, The Echo, Silverlake Lounge, etc), toured the east and west coasts, received local and national college radio play, and had their music featured in TV shows, films, and commercials. Wires in the Walls takes a hands-on DIY attitude to their promotion, including the screen printing of all of their own merchandise. Their most recent EP was met with widespread critical acclaim, receiving high marks from a number of bloggers including Kevin Bronson of Buzzbands LA: "Each of the four songs on Wires in the Walls’ new EP “Leap, Timber, Leap” is a mini-epic, a snippet of musical cinema that, in between the twinkling guitars, serene melodies and lustrous production, conveys the timeless tug-of-war between melancholy and hope. It’s a refinement of pop-Americana the Los Angeles quintet of Warren Sroka, Denton Biety, Bryan King, Dave Irelan and Dave Sicher debuted on their fine 2011 album “New Symmetry.” The new EP was made with producer Scott Gilman (Black Francis, Airborne Toxic Event); somewhere amid the quaver of Sroka’s vocals and the guitar crescendos in “August Parades,” you might wish it were more than just four songs."
